Itinerary
Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by a private air-conditioned car (extra charge may be applicable to any area beyond Cairo and Giza). Your tour will start from the Giza Plateau; here you will visit the three Great Pyramids belonging to the 4th Dynasty pharaohs; The Great pyramid of king Khufu, the Pyramid of Chephren and the Pyramid of Menkaure.
Followed by a visit to the Great Sphinx; the famous statue carved from limestone depicting a mythical beast with a lion's body and human head, the Valley Temple is next. Built on the edge of the desert cliffs it was where mummification took place, it consists of vast amounts of granite and a lime stone floor, it is both simple yet highly impressive.
Optional camel ride or quad biking around the pyramids is available at extra cost for those wishing to make their day more exciting!
Later on driving from Giza to Cairo to visit Islamic Cairo. Start with the Citadel of Salah El Din; built during the Middle Islamic Period by Salah El Din as an Islamic fortress and later developed by later rulers.
Visit Mohamed Ali Mosque (Alabaster Mosque); famous for its most beautiful interior & exterior decorated by alabaster and for being Ottoman style built inside the citadel.
Next visit to the Sultan Hassan & El Rifai Mosques; adjacent mosques situated in Salah El Din Square which were constructed during the Mamluke Era, they are considered among the largest and finest examples of Islamic architecture in Cairo.
Then visit Ibn Tulun Mosque; it is one of the largest and oldest mosques in Cairo, constructed from red brick and decorated with intricate stucco designs. Originally it was built for the capital of Al-Qata'i.
